From the Land of Hornbills, here comes another dedicated entry to so-called ‘Kampung Budaya Sarawak’ or better known as Sarawak Cultural Village. Tucked away on the foothills of legendary Mount Santubong, 35 km from Kuching the award winning “Sarawak Cultural Village” which is also the venue for the Rainforest World Music Festival, an internationally renowned festival. Here, the tourist may see the Sarawak’s ethnic diversity at a glance which consists of Iban, Bidayuh, Penan, Orang Ulu, Melanau, Malay and Chinese.

    Orang Ulu Longhouse

    Time naik terer..time turun cuak giler!!Hahaha.Tinggi woooo…

The 45-minute cultural performance of songs, dances and entertainment is something you will not want to miss during your visit to Sarawak Cultural Village.

The show ended with some ‘joget lambak’ sessions as the dancers invited any guests to come on stage and dance together with them.

    • Hudarling : I pg this place hari tu. cool gile i suka yg tarian tu. =D

Ok peeps, pardon me for being silence for too long. Hence, sorry too for letting this blog of mine almost ‘bersawang‘ as i was so busy up to my neck since the last couple months. So, here we go another chapter was crafted between two persons- Hameed & Nazimah. Two people with own different characters. The bride, Nazimah actually first emailed me and after a few bounces and replies through sms and emails we decided to meet up for coffee. Guess what, not that I know I would meet such a sweet and yet talkative girl. We chatted about few minutes and we kept on talking like we knew each other for the rest of our life. LOL! Such an easy going person and yet so clear on what she wants in her life. Well, the groom – Hameed i met him for the first time on the day of ceremony itself. Well, to be frank the first time i saw him, i knew he’s a nice guy. Looks so polite and never fail to put a smile on his face, like all the time! Hehe. Oh ya, as the title reclaim this engagement is indeed an Indian Muslim engagement. As i never had any experiences capturing this kinda event before, i thankful and flattered on the trust and opportunity given by them.  Completely different from the usual Malay engagements that i used to shoot. Full of colours and symbolic traditions and not to mentioned, different language as most of the time they speak Tamil and a bit of English. Interesting, huh?! Trust me,it is. May i quote the favourite word of our PM, – Salam 1Malaysia. Hehe! Alrite enough blabbering, let the pics tell the rest. To Hameed & Nazimah, thanks again for everything and i wish both of you all the best and hopefully, i will ‘see’ you guys again in December. Insya Allah.

The bride is getting ready….with the make up and sari, accompanied by dearest relatives.

Putting the netti churi (i hope the spelling comes right) on the bride’s forehead

Zanji recital is taking place downstairs while the bride is getting ready

The bride,Nazimah with her darling sisters…Sweetooo!!!

The entourage of the groom has finally arrived

The groom – Hameed (see, i told ya he loves to smile..hehe!)

    The father of the bride

    Doa recital

The mother of the groom giving his son hugs and kisses right after the putting ring session done. I saw Hameed tried to calm himself down as his eyes almost burst into tears while his mother held him. Oh by the way, in Indian Muslim culture the bride’s brother cousin will put the engagement ring on the groom’s finger.

Here begins the bully part….where the rest of the families will line up and feed the bride with spoons of sugars and pomegranate (buah delima) as the symbolic of wishes where the bride and groom may have a sweet and happy life together ever after. Aicewah! Ngeeee….

My eyes caught this little beauty in the middle of crowd…Shoooo cuteee!!!

    Here comes the bride…

This is indeed my favourite pic of the day. Well, not just sugars and pomegranate but garam pun kena sumbat jugak. LOL! See the expression on Nazimah’s face. Priceless!! Hehehe.
